The elders of Bethlehem came to meet Samuel trembling, and said, “Do you come peaceably?”
He calls it Balcony Church and practices it in Nairobi, Kenya: he sets up his sound system in the parking lot, the band plays, he sings and he preaches, as children and parents dance on their balconies. The LORD said to Samuel, “How long will you grieve over Saul? I have rejected him from being king over Israel. Fill your horn with oil and set out; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided for myself a king among his sons.” Samuel said, “How can I go? If Saul hears of it, he will kill me.” And the LORD said, “Take a heifer with you, and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.’ Invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do; and you shall anoint for me the one whom I name to you.” Samuel did what the LORD commanded, and came to Bethlehem. –BOWMAN, TREVARIUS RAVON, 25, 1st Lieutenant, South Carolina National Guard, Company B, 198th Signal Battalion, 261st Signal Brigade, based out of Newberry, South Carolina. The unit is attached to the 228th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade with the South Carolina National Guard. He is from Spartanburg, South Carolina.-
Trevarius “Tre” Bowman, who died last week in a non-combat incident, was a graduate of Dorman High School where he was a member of the JROTC program. He enlisted in the National Guard in 2015 and earned a bachelor’s degree in information technology. His mother, brother, sister and grandparents have started a scholarship program in his name for JROTC students at his high school. His awards include the National Defense Service Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Afghanistan Campaign Medal.
