John Raleigh Mott.Wiki

John Raleigh Mott was an American Methodist, the longtime leader of the Young Men’s Christian Association and, for 20 years, the general secretary of the World Student Christian Federation; it was a time when you didn’t have to be a student to lead the students. He was deeply involved in creating the World Council of Churches, which elected him its honorary president for life. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1946 for his ecumenical work which, after two world wars, Europeans hoped would promote peace, though there’s scant evidence of such a result. (Wikipedia)
