A few days ago we decried the alleged corruption of the elected leaders of South Sudan, who are killing and terrorizing the population in a civil war over oil money; now comes word about this character, one Eduardo Cunha, the former speaker of the Brazilian House of Representatives. He’s not only a politician, but a big radio preacher, and now he stands accused of laundering $40 million through his megachurch to a Swiss bank account. It was St. John Chrysostom who said, “The road to hell is lined with the skulls of priests,” but only because he hadn’t met any fundamentalist celebrities yet.
