Liz Easton: Constance and Companions, Martyrs of Memphis. Sister Constance and other nuns of the Community of St. Mary, as well as these missionary priests, were among the martyrs of all denominations who gave their lives to care for residents of Memphis, Tennessee during a deadly yellow fever epidemic. Thirty thousand people fled, 5000 died, but those who survived have remembered those who cared for them ever since. (
