In the midst of sorrow, there is joy; here is a scene from GLORY, a youth ministry at the Rosebud Episcopal Mission on the Lakota Sioux Reservation in South Dakota, teaching children to dance and sing. What a priceless look! The Rosebud Mission is one of our five mission partners this year, to whom we’ve donated 10% ($2000) of our budget; the others are St. André’s School in Mithon, Haiti; the Episcopal Dioceses of Bor and Lui, South Sudan; and the Cheyenne River Episcopal Mission, a neighboring Indian reservation in South Dakota. Our site is funded entirely by donations, and we’re glad to be involved in something besides ourselves. Churches that exist only to serve their own members become spiritually debilitated, and the same is true for prayer sites like ours. (The Rev. Lauren R. Stanley)
