Lt. Alexander Goode was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Washington, D.C. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati, Hebrew Union College, earned a doctorate at Johns Hopkins University, and served synagogues in Marion, Indiana and York, Pennsylvania before being accepted as an Army chaplain. He died at 31, leaving behind his wife and daughter.
