For Episcopalians, this is a day not only to honor Luther’s place in history, but to celebrate full communion with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the largest of the Lutheran branches in this country – with special thanksgiving for shared ministry at the altars of our parishes and missions. Above: Augustana Lutheran in Washington, D.C. was founded in 1918 by Swedish immigrants.
