St. Antony’s Monastery, Egypt. He inherited wealth when he was young, but following his Savior’s command, sold all he had and gave it to the poor. This Coptic Orthodox monastery, located deep in the mountains 200 miles south of Cairo, is the oldest monastery in the world. Home today to over 100 monks, it receives a million visitors a year and has produced a dozen Coptic Popes.
