Archbishop Janani Luwum with the infamous Ugandan dictator Idi Amin, who had him gunned down for protesting state-sanctioned rape and murder. Uganda is historically the most Christian country in Africa (because of martyrs a century earlier), and Anglican archbishops are public figures valued by the government as long as they don’t cause trouble. Luwum told the truth about Amin, so the dictator eliminated him. The self-proclaimed King of Scotland was responsible for as many as 500,000 deaths.
